From Art School to Faux ( my early stuff )

Growing up in & around Bridgeport,Ct.,the only art museums were the local newsstand & the P.T. Barnum Museum. Barnum had lived there & had used Bridgeport as the Winter Quarters for his animals & side shows. Above are examples of the faux Comic Books & Pulp magazines I had first exhibited at OK HARRIS & the BRUCE R. LEWIN Galleries in Soho.
Below is a giant Barnum medallion I carved & painted for the railroad overpass on Park Ave., Bridgeport...  ( I also created the BARNUM SUCKER ... a lollipop sold at the Barnum Museum )

Below are 2 giant size Pulp recreations done for Universal Studios production of THE SHADOW starring Alec Baldwin...
The left features flashing green neon. The right is a life sized animatronic skeleton that opens the curtain & speaks.
They were featured in an ABC TV promo for the film & later auctioned at Sotheby's...

So...how do I get from talking Skeletons to "ART " ???
perhaps this 5 minute video of my abstracts set to music by Rachmaninoff can help explain .......

Where do we come from ? What are we ? Where are we going ?
My point is . . . sometimes it's impossible to tell which way is UP .
